Julian K. Akins earned his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His further education comes from societal observation, investigation and artistic summation.  His attachment to the struggle and progression of the Black community is ever present in his work.  Juliann's ongoing series of cartoons, along with a virtual gallery of paintings, can be seen at www.imaginakins.com.
